Cooperative planning for multi-site asteroid visual coverage

This article proposes a novel two-staged trajectory planning algorithm toward the cooperative visual coverage of multiple asteroid sites with utilization spacecraft. The objective established scheme is to determine an observation tour for each spacecraft and associated fuel optimal trajectories, such that site interest observed only once during entire mission. completion task limited time window, referred as period which illuminated by Sun. proposed divides overall multi-site problem into nonlinear integer optimization as: (i) single target (ii) multi-target sequencing problem. first part aims generate all initial-final imaging location pairs. In second part, distributing task, among fleet spacecraft, addressed designing feasible observe subset desired sites, while considering their individual capacity. efficacy evaluated in simulation scenarios different asteroids.
